This Week's Shopping Trips! 9-24-2009

Finally getting these totals up! Only got to Publix and Rite Aid this week. I'll stop by CVS tomorrow since all I plan on picking up is FREE toothpaste and rolling my ExtraCare Bucks. Looking forward to some big shopping trips this weekend. Definitely not much we need right now (my pantry and freezer are FULL!) but the holidays are coming so I'm stocking up with each trip!

Anyhow, here's what I got at Publix...

4 pkgs Quaker Instant Grits
6 pkgs Quaker Granola Bars
2 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
1 Gallon Milk
2 Publix Coffee (Penny Item)
2 bags Doritos (My son's absolute favorite!)
2 Breyers Ice Cream
1 pkg Beef Stew Meat
1 pkg Boneless Pork Chops
1 pkg B/S Chicken Breasts
2 pkg Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 Clorox Bleach

TOTAL SPENT: $ 21.66
TOTAL SAVED: $ 62.90

*I also had another quick trip for the Enfamil that was on sale. I am awaiting a price adjustment- but after the price adjustment, my total spent will be around $12 on 1 large can Enfamil Formula and 10 jars of baby food (the price on the shelf was incorrect). I only went to purchase these after a great friend gave me a Target Q to stack with my other Qs for the formula - it was such a sweet deal, I couldn't pass it up!

Rite Aid Diaper Trip
I really only shop at Rite Aid if it's a great deal. This was a great deal!

4 pkgs Pure & Natural Huggies

Total Spent: $17.52 - $10 Single Check Rebate = $7.52
Total Saved: $36.48

My total after tax was $1.88/pack! $0.88 of that was tax! Awesome deal! When I include the $5 Gift Certificate I earned with Rite Aid's Fall Gift of Savings, that makes it even better! I'm actually only $6 away from a $10 gift certificate! Keeping my eye on upcoming deals to qualify!

Reminder for FREE Ice Cream Today

Remember to stop by your local Cold Stone to get a FREE serving of "Jack's Creation" today (with a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation). You can read more about this FREEBIE here - and even though I've said it before, I'll say it again... I really think this is an awesome program!

Update on KMart Doubles

I have finally received an email back from corporate regarding the upcoming Doubles Event at K-Mart. A little bit of good news, a little bit of bad. Remember that your mileage may vary. I am learning that what K-Mart says is not always what happens. I'll be checking with my local store, you will want to do the same.

Unfortunately, only "Procter & Gamble" coupons will be doubled. Any other coupons will be redeemed at face value. Coupons must have the "Procter & Gamble" name printed on the coupon. The limit of 10 double coupons per transaction still applies. Corporate is also stating that no K-Mart store coupons will accepted towards a doubles transaction (No $5/$50 coupons). There is also a minimum of $25 grocery purchase required.

The good news is K-Mart is doubling Procter & Gamble coupons up to a value of $2! Stayed tuned for the list of match-ups!

***UPDATE 10:15pm***
My Kmart list is on hold for now. I am still getting mixed messages from Kmart, so until I can get clear on the specifics - we'll wait! As soon as I know something, I'll pass it along.

FREE GROCERIES!!

Who doesn't want FREE groceries?
Sign me up!

My favorite coupon site Southern Savers now has a Facebook Fan Page. If Jenny gets 2000 fans by next Tuesday, she's giving away 6 $50 grocery gift cards!

Go Become a Fan of Southern Savers now! Not only will you have the chance to win a $50 gift card, you also get to see instant updates and deals from Southern Savers!

Highlights for K Mart Doubles

Here are a few of the deals to be had if your local KMART is participating in doubles this week. There have been rumors about this event from the very beginning - so I strongly suggest you call first before making any long trips. I haven't had a chance to make it to my local store yet (too many deals to be had at Publix and a cranky baby!), but when I called last week they had no information or clues about doubles.

Don't forget to use a $5/$50 coupon here! I hope everyone gets lots of FREE stuff. In the past, KMART has limited doubles to 10/transaction - but again your mileage may vary - even from cashier to cashier! Happy Savings!

THAT IS FOUR PACKS OF DIAPERS FOR $4!

HAPPY DANCE! HAPPY DANCE!

On Southern Savers you will find other scenarios using a $2 Huggies coupon. I already used these to get free wipes, so I'll be using the Pure & Natural Qs for $3 off. I stopped in my Rite Aid today and the manager had seriously stocked up and said they're expecting a big turn out - so I'm going early!

Click here to get your coupon for FREE fries at Hardees with the purchase of a Big Hardee. I'm guessing this is Hardees' version of a Big Mac. Not sure, but I do know my husband LOVES them!

I must admit, when it comes to doughnuts - I'm a Krispy Kreme girl, through and through! I like Dunkin' Donuts, but if that "HOT" sign is flashing, I'm stopping!

Anyhow, I found these Dunkin' Donuts coupons and thought I would share.

There's a $1 OFF Donuts Q, but there's also a small latte for .99 and $1.99 flatbread sandwiches too.

Another quick note on diapers...

COMING SOON TO A RITE AID NEAR YOU:

Huggies Pure and Naturals

3 Packs for 3 Bucks!

Stay tuned for more info, but save those coupons!

By the way...

This was what got me thinking about my last post! There is a $5 OFF Enfamil coupon available here.

Also, stayed tuned. There is a $5 OFF LUVS coupon coming soon. Never tried LUVS? They have a money-back guarantee! And with that coupon, it will make them FREE or very, very cheap!

I am so absent-minded some days! Now, off to chase the little ones. Nap time is almost over!

FREE DIAPERS? CHEAP FORMULA?

We have a sweet little six month old who is now beginning to eat us out of house and home. People are often curious - how do you save money on the two most expensive items for a baby. (Diapers and Formula)

My answer? BUY IT WHEN IT'S ON SALE! I don't buy either of these unless they are on sale - and then I stock up big time. We have so much formula now, that I may not need to buy anymore before our little one is a year old!

DIAPERS
You can often get diapers for as low as $5 a pack or CHEAPER! These can be bought at CVS using your ECBs (Extra Care Bucks) for FREE! Newborn not wearing size 3 yet, but that's all they have on sale? I promise, they'll be in 3's before you know it. And you'll have diapers. It is never too early to buy them - even if you're pregnant! Devote $5 a week now to diapers, if they're not on sale, bank that $5 for next week when they go on sale!

Formula is the same way - when you have coupons, and it's on sale - STOCK UP! As soon as you know what kind of formula your baby likes, start watching the sales!

This is the same concept I use for groceries. YOU decide what you are going to pay - not the retailer!

Both formula and diapers can be purchased while they are on sale - stacking coupons.
Example:
HUGGIES Big Packs are on sale this week at Publix for $19.99
If you use
$3 OFF in ad Q
$1.50 or $3 OFF Manufacturer Q
$2.00 OFF Rite Aid Q
$1.50 saved for college using ecoupon from UPromise
You can get 96 diapers for as cheap as 11.99 (This is the big box of diapers!) AND save $1.50 for your child's education!

Formula is the same way! You can stack store and manufacturer coupons to get the best deal. ALSO - Don't forget the formula checks you get from the manufacturer can be used with coupons! That equals big savings!

Great resources for baby coupons:
www.gerber.com
www.beechnut.com
www.enfamil.com
www.similac.com
www.huggieshappybaby.com
www.pampers.com
www.luvsdiapers.com
www.earthsbest.com

If you aren't registered with these companies yet, go ahead and get signed up. Even if you don't use that particular brand, you will still be eligible for other coupons. I just got Aussie Hair Care and Bounty coupons from Huggies in a home mailer the other day!

Also, check here for more AWESOME baby deals!

CVS 9/7/09

Oh how I love FREE stuff! This was another good week for me at CVS!

Started out with $7.58, $0.99, and $2.00 in ECBs.

What I bought:
1 8+2FREE pack of Schick SlimTriple Disposable Razors ($6.99) - get $4 ECB back
1 bottle Aussie Scrunch&Go Spray ($2.99) - get $2 ECB back
1 pair clearance men's flip flops ($0.39)*
1 pair clearance women's flip flops ($0.29)*

Coupons Used:
$1.oo OFF Q for Aussie (home mailer)
$1.00 OFF Q for razors (SS 8/23)

And using my $7.58 and $2.00 ECBs - all of my purchases were FREE! I also earned $6 ECBs for next week! Also, I had a $2 OFF Huggies Wipes Q print on my receipt. This means FREE wipes when I pair it with a manu Q!

* These flip-flops were to help bring my total closer to the amount of ECBs I had to spend. I never like to "lose" my ECBs so these were great filler items. Plus - they are great for working in the yard!*

CVS GUIDE

FIRST STEP: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CVS EXTRACARE CARD - GO GET ONE!

Okay, really the next time you go in the store would be fine. Or you can sign up online, but that will take a little time while they mail it to you.

What I really mean is, there are loads of deals and FREEBIES to be had at your local CVS. All it takes is a little time and you'll be able to get the following FREE:

Bandaids
Cough Drops
First-Aid Creme
Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap
Razors
Shampoo (Conditioner, Hair Products)
Shaving Creme
Lotion
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Soap
Mouthwash
Floss
Pain Medicine (and cold/cough medicine)

Basically, anything in the store is up for grabs, depending on sales and how you choose to spend your EXTRA BUCKS.

Now, these little EXTRA BUCKS will soon become your best friends while shopping CVS. First thing is first. Your EXTRACARE CARD is just like a loyalty card at BiLo or Food Lion. Remember to put it on your keychain and use it every time you go.

EXTRA BUCKS are earned when you make specific purchases that are in the ad every week (The best ones will say FREE after ECB).

So you go in and your first trip you will pay OOP for your "FREE after ECB" purchase. Then you have your remaining ECB (EXTRACARE BUCKS) that print out on your receipt. These are just like money - and can be used on your next purchase. You can even purchase the same thing again using your ECBs!

SCENARIO:
Buy 1 tube of toothpaste at $2.99
Earn $2.99 ECBs
Walk back to the toothpaste aisle, and get a second tube of toothpaste. Use your ECBs to pay for it, and depending on the deal you may continue to earn ECBs. You could do this deal all day long - or until the limit for the deal is reached. Limits are posted on the ad.

Now we sweeten the deal....
Buy 1 tube of toothpaste at $2.99
Use $1 OFF coupon
Total is $1.99 - AND - you earn $2.99 in ECBs. You just made a buck!

Buy that second tube at $2.99
Use another $1 OFF coupon
*And you have $1 here to spend on whatever (preferably something that earns and ECB)*
Then pay with your $2.99 ECBs
And you earn ECBs for your next trip.

These deals go on and on! If you're like me, you will keep a higher running total of ECBs because I like to save them for when diapers are on sale. FREE diapers are good for me!

A FEW CVS RULES AND POINTERS:
-ECBs are just like cash so they can be combined with coupons (manu and CVS specific)
-ECBs are good for just about everything in the store (except prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco)
-ECBs generally expire 4 weeks after they are printed
-You don't get change back from ECBs - so if your total is less than the ECBs you are paying with you will lose that money. Try to look for clearance items or a piece of candy to fill in.

CVSing takes practice, but once you get it down it's a breeze! And the first time you really "get it" you will want to yell from the mountaintops what a great deal it is!

Other great places to look at CVS deals and scenarios can be found here and here.
My best advice is to check out my deals at CVS and other scenarios. This is the best way to learn what will work for you! Happy Shopping!

FREE REDBOX RENTAL CODE

Looking for something to do tonight? Here's a new REDBOX code for a FREE movie rental - expires tonight at midnight so use it quick!

This Week's Shopping Trips!

Here is the run-down for our trips to Publix, BiLo, and Rite Aid. Great week, again. I still need to make it to CVS today, so be looking for my post about all of the free things I've gotten at CVS - and how you can get them too!

Photobucket

Total OOP: $ 48.40
Total Saved: $154.97
PLUS - 2 $9.99 MIR (*Mail In Rebates*) on the way
= $28.42 Total Spent

Here's what I got:

BiLo
Like I've said before, it's a good week to stock up on meat. There's only so much room in our freezer and we have tons of chicken and pork, so this week is was beef. I only got enough to really get us through until the next time it goes on sale. We have got to eat some of the Eggos that are taking up half of the freezer! I also stocked up on cake mixes, even though I didn't have any coupons (SHOCK AND HORROR!!). They were BOGO at $1.75 which makes them around $0.87 a box. That is cheaper than I can ever buy them regular price, and I bake alot of cake so this was a good deal for me - even without a coupon.

5lbs Ground Beef
4 Sirloin Steaks
1 Flat Iron Steak ($1.50 Q Peelie)
4 Packs Ball Park Hot Dogs
1 Pkg Southern Home Hamburger Buns ($0.50 BiLo Q)

**also earned .05 in Fuelperks - 13.42 towards next time**
GOOD NEWS for UPSTATE READERS: Fuelperks are coming to the Upstate! They will be available in the Spartanburg area soon. Who couldn't use some serious money off their purchase of gas? That's why even if I don't have coupons, I will buy something we need at BiLo - I'm still getting something back!

Go here and register your Bonuscard to get BiLo Qs and to learn about FuelPerks.
