About Me...

Come save a buck or two with me!

I'm not ashamed....I'll do the SAVING MONEY HAPPY DANCE with ya!  Don't know what I'm talking about?  Stick around for a while and get something for FREE that you used to pay full retail for.  You'll be doing that HAPPY DANCE before you know it!

Who am I?

I'm Lauren and I'm glad you stopped by to see what Palmetto State Saver is all about.  I'm the Momma to two terrific kids and wife to my super sweet husband.  Our son is 11 and our daughter is 2.  I'm a Carolina Girl at heart (that loves CLEMSON) and I'm constantly in search of ways to save money and sharing it all with you!

I'm a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend - just like you.  I am busy, and crazy, and just trying to get it all done every day!

How we got here.....

I began couponing in 2007 when my husband injured his neck at work.  I clipped what I could and saved every chance I got out of necessity.  Our income was significantly cut when he was out on Worker's Compensation.  Once I learned how to match coupons with sales and changed my thoughts about buying (buy when it's on sale, not when you need it) - I never looked back.  I jump at the chance to get something for free that I once paid full price for.  The grocery store isn't the only place you can find savings.  We have learned to save a tremendous amount of money in every area of our lives by shopping smart, and we aren't missing a thing!

My husband and I are working towards a more financially secure future for our family.  We were both blessed to be raised in wonderful, secure families - but we never learned about preparing for our futures. We have agreed that there are things we can sacrifice now to reap the rewards in the long run for ourselves and our children. Our goal is to introduce them to a debt-free style of living as young adults, and to instill money management skills and habits in them early. Hopefully we are successful and they won't struggle to learn the ropes as we did.

So like I said earlier - Grab a glass of sweet tea and stick around a while...

Never pay retail.  Laugh at the silly antics of your kids (or you can laugh at mine).

And save a buck or two.  You'll be glad you did!
