Potatoes & Kielbasa
Here's a quick dinner that I can throw into the oven and have dinner in around an hour.
4 cups medium potatoes, peeled and cut in bite sized pieces
Walter's Gold Potatoes 5lb - $2.49
(Cost: around 65¢-75¢)
1 lb Polska Kielbasa, sliced
Carolina Pride Polska Kielbasa - $1.74
1 Packet Onion Soup Mix
Southern Home Onion Soup Mix - 68¢
1 Yellow Onion
around 35¢ each
From The Pantry:
1-1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
Preheat the oven to 425°. Mix all of the ingredients and pour into a well greased 9x13 dish. Bake for one hour, stirring half way through. I usually serve this with green beans, carrots, or cooked cabbage. Southern Home canned veggies are Buy One Get One FREE this week for just 49¢ each, and Martha White Cornbread is FREE after coupons -so you can complete this meal for super cheap!
TIPS: Some Kielbasa may be greasy, so you may need to drain it before transferring it to a serving dish. Also, if you notice your potatoes cooking too quickly, cover the dish with foil until it's done to prevent them from burning.
TOTAL MEAL COST: $3.52 - $4.50
