Cinderella Day 2010

Cinderella Day 2010

Every girl should have the opportunity to feel like a princess once in their lives. Feeling beautiful, like the Belle of the Ball - in a shimmering dress, matching shoes, with her hair perfectly styled and make-up just so - What a wonderful experience for a young lady building her self esteem! Unfortunately, this dream is simply unattainable for many young women in our area. With families struggling to simply keep food on the table and bills paid, a new dress for Prom night just isn't in the cards.

That's where Cinderella Day comes in! A local church has stepped in to meet the needs of these young women on such a pivotal night of their lives. Seacoast Church began the Cinderella Day program in 2008 with 120 girls attending their Dream Center to find "that perfect dress" - at NO cost! Thanks to generous donations the girl had dresses, shoes, and jewelry. They were ready for a magical evening with help from their community.

Prom is quickly approaching, and this year's goal is to outfit 300 girls! Here is your chance to give back. Do you have an old prom dress in the back of your closet? How about all of those beautiful bridesmaid dresses you know you're not going to wear again? Take that dress and use it to make a young girl's dream come true! Or if you know a young woman who would benefit from this experience, please pass the information along! You can get more info here - or you can email me at palmettostatesaver (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll try to answer any questions for you!
**I know most of my posts are all about saving money, but giving back to my community is really important to me - and I had to share this with those of you who are in my area. I really hope you'll participate! **
