BOO! Evidently Sears doesn't like to play the gift card game...
Sears customer service is considering a gift card (like the one I told you about here from CVS) a "reward" and therefore will not let you make the purchases for the $50 rebate with one. Getting $100 worth of clothes for $50 is a great deal, but we won't be able to use the CVS gift cards!
I am reading some comments around the blogosphere stating that some Sears store managers are agreeing that this makes no sense and have agreed to issue a $50 gift card if your rebate is denied, so this will be an avenue to pursue if you have already made your purchases. It definitely wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask anyways!
