Cheesy Potato Hash
Honestly, this is kinda my version of Hamburger Helper - and it's so easy! This is one of those meals I can pull out of my hat when it's 4 o'clock and I hadn't planned on anything. The funny thing is, this is one recipe that my son and husband ask for over and over - they LOVE it!
1 lb Ground Chuck
Ground Chuck - $1.99/lb
4 - 5 Medium Potatoes
5lb Bag Potatoes - $2.99
(approximately 20¢ each)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Kraft Natural Shredded or Chunk Cheese - $2
Buy 5 and use $5/5 printable
MAKES IT $1
(50¢/cup)
From the Pantry or Refrigerator:
Salt & Pepper
Garlic Powder
Beef Broth (optional)
Peel the potatoes and cube them small, about 1/4 inch cubes. Cover them in a bowl of water to soak. Brown the meat in a medium sized skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain the meat, and add the potatoes. Place a small amount of water or beef broth (a couple of tablespoons is all it takes) in the pan, and increase the heat to medium - medium/high. When the potatoes are tender, reduce heat and sprinkle with the cheddar cheese. Cover for 3-5 minutes - just long enough for the cheese to get melted.
Easy Side
